Artist's Comments

I've been wanting to do a Kraken piece for some time so here it is. I did this in Painter for the most part using the oil pastels and of course Photoshop. Im going to dedicate myself to Painter for coloring from now on, I love it. About 5-6 hrs

You have managed to create a dramatic moment, and the monster is a real terror. I think however that the small scale elements are somewhat stiff and crude, and the water is not very convincing. It looks like you've gone ballistic with the blue and green brushes, and not actually tried to recreate the characteristics of water. But overall, this is a great piece :)

That eye, the chaos... :D Wonderful!

Hrm... Critique encouraged? *thinks* I don't know. I appreciate all the action that's happening, but I think you could have heightened the drama by making the lighting even more dramatic. I mean, yes, it is very dramatic now, but maybe if the shadows on this side (viewers side) were darker, and the highlights more like backlighting/rimlighting on the furthest arms. Maybe even make the furthest arms almost silhouettes? I don't know. It's all just suggestions! Because this is fabulous already!
