I was inspired to do this by the PS2 game 'God of War'. The art for this game was done by a guy name Charlie Wen.. I was going for the energy and motion of his piece called 'Sore Throat" Check it out...[link] Just some awesome art! The booklet and everything...This took @10 hrs PS, Painter and my Wacom
Daily DeviationGiven 2005-04-17When you can't grab the bull by the horns, you do what you can. It helps to have a damn big sword. Bull Fight by *VegasMike rages with motion and rattles your perspective with a surprisingly visceral display of kinetic energy. Please full view. (Featured by `frail) CommentsThat's so awesome! Great, uh, perspective? Is that the word? Like how the bull's head is so close and the rest of his body is far away. That's what I like. And the blurryness with the swinging of the axe. It reminds me of Thesesus fighting the minotaur, or is that what the scene actually is?
-- R.I.P. John Hughes 1950 - 2009 | "Neekko" is not Japanese for "cat". The minotaur looks a bit... solidly planted to be in extreme motion, I think, he's very stable and still-looking for someone who threw their weight behind an axe chop. But the way charlie's piece adds to the motion is in the weird perspective distortions and P.O.V. wrap-around in the background and scenery, maybe try that in your stuff in the future, too. I really like the motion blur and the guy diving out of the way seems to be quite nicely captured.
